"Known as battlefield demons. Drawn to the frenzy and energy of armed conflict. Most notably, they have the power to paralyze their victims with fear."
Ichabod Crane[src]

The Yao-Quai is a Demon which is attracted to aggression and gunpowder. It has the ability to paralyze its victims with fear which the demon then takes advantage of and kills them.

HistoryEdit

Bunker HillEdit

In the Battle of Bunker Hill, the demon was used to try and turn the war in favour of the British as it was attracted to aggression and gunpowder. After Betsy Ross was able to get a message to George Washington, the Americans were able to win the war.[1]

SummonedEdit

The creature was summoned in the 21st century by Pandora to wreak havoc. The creature attacks two hunters and kills them. Later, the demon is attracted to a drug gang but is greated by the FBI. Mitch enters the building and Abbie spots the Yao-Quai on the roof. As Mitch corners Lorenzo, the Yao-Quai enters the room and paralyzes Mitch. It rips out his throat and Abbie arrives and opens fire on it. She hits it and it runs off, and Lorenzo flees while Abbie calls for medical assistance. However, Mitch dies in her arms. Later, the demon is attracted to some gunpowder that the Witnesses used to lure the creature. Ichabod and Jenny spot the Yao-Quai approaching the warehouse. They light more gunpowder but the demon ignores it, and Jenny shoots it to get its attention. They run into the warehouse and Ichabod tells Jenny to take the shot. Abbie knocks Lorenzo out and handcuffs him as the FBI agents burst in. Ichabod fires off a shot and the Yao-Quai approaches him. Jenny draws a bead on it as the demon paralyzes Ichabod with fear. As it advances, Jenny shoots it but it misses. The Yao-Quai attacks her and then knocks Ichabod to the floor below. As it leaps down at him, its eyes turning white, there's a shot and the demon explodes.[1]
