"Revere begged his protégé to return with him to Washington's camp, hopeful they could find a cure for his condition. Johnny knew he did not have long. He made a heroic sacrifice that Revere was powerless to avert."
Ichabod Crane to Abbie Mills[src]

Jonathan Revere was the nephew and apprentice of Paul Revere. The Eye of Providence was absorbed into his body and he later exploded, killing him, leaving a crater in his wake.

The EyeEdit

In 1776, Washington had Paul examine the Eye of Providence to counter Howe's mystical powers, and Paul brought his nephew and apprentice Jonathan with him. Jon touched it and it was absorbed into him. Johnny then escaped and made his way to an open field where he was followed by his uncle. Paul begged him to return to the camp so that they might find a cure. Knowing that he didn't have long, Jonathan refused, told his uncle to get away and sacrificed himself as his body exploded, leaving a creator in the field. By using the Staff of the Hidden One, Paul was able to absorb the Eye back to its place in the staff. He then remodelled the staff to something that would contain the eye's power. He created the Shard of Anubis.[1]
