Hell is a spiritual realm filled with damned souls. The Lesser Key of Solomon was thought to be a doorway to open a pathway for demons to enter the mortal realm from any of the circles for use by King Solomon to control the demons sworn to serve him.

Visited by Witnesses[]

In the episode, Freedom, Crane and Lara cast a gateway ritual, and appear in Hell. To Crane it appears as Valley Forge in mid-winter. To Lara it looks like the orphanage where she grew up. Crane realizes that Hell shapes itself to their personal perceptions. They come to a door with the traditional warning, and go through. Crane and Lara descend an apparently near-endless spiral staircase and eventually come to a vast lobby. Satan greets them. Crane informs him that they need a way to kill Malcolm Dreyfuss, and Satan points out that the apocalypse will bring down more souls to him, and insists that he has to abide by his contract. Crane asks if they can strike a deal. Satan laughs.
